Local Biz Domination Case Study

OK, I know what you are thinking. Steve is showing us all these great results but he is using a website that he runs as an example. I won’t be able to get the same results.

It’s true, the locksmiths website is a website that I have been running for a client, albeit only for a few weeks. (At the time of writing). That does not mean that you cannot achieve as good, if not better results yourself. I say better because you will be able to commit more to your project as I only get paid to do a couple of hours a week for three months on the locksmiths website.

Meet Richard Pearce

Richard Pearce was introduced to me around the end of October 2012. He runs a part time mobile car mechanics business from his home.

Wanting to open up his opportunities and give himself options, he decided to put his business online. He, like many people that I meet had set his self up online with a DIY website. He won’t mind me saying that, in a word, it was rubbish. He would be the first to agree, knowing what he knows now.

The trouble was, like many people running a small local business, he did not want to invest a fortune on a web project. He was happy to learn some new skills and do things for himself. He was talking to a client of his, who happened to be a client of mine and that’s how we met.

Richard has been running his own website with just a little help from Sussex SEO, since the beginning of November. Here’s where he was at by the end of January using the techniques taught in Local Biz Domination.

Free WordPress Template

Worth a quick mention, Richard Uses a free WordPress template, All In One SEO plugin, XML Sitemap plug-in and a couple more plug-ins that he introduced as his skills have grown.

Search Engine Results

The image below shows Richards results as of 28th January and he is working on a bunch of new terms that are up and coming now.

Traffic

Are you sitting down? Just bare in mind that this is a guy who runs a part time business and the website is three months old. I bet there will be some bigger companies who feel a little sick when they see the image below.

Business

Richard is getting regular enquiries, new clients, has been registered as an approved mechanic by a major company and things are getting better all the time. Well what would you expect with results like that?

If you are having any doubts as to whether running your own website is for you, I hope this has helped to inspire you to believe.

Thank You Richard

Thank you to Richard Pearce of RP Automotive Services, for allowing me to publish details of his website, business and results. Most of all, thank you for making my job a worthwhile one.

I will be inviting Richard to tell his side of the story. See the comment section below.

  1. Hi Steve,
Before being introduced to Steve I had set up a website by going with a company that I had seen advertised, my understanding was make your site and off you go. How wrong! It’s all well and good having a site that you look at but no one apart from the company taking your monies, will see. It was fortunate for me that one of my customers is also a client of http://web-design-sussex-seo.co.uk\.
Steve explained about “SEO” and various methods used to make sure your “keywords” rank high in Google searches. Bearing in mind I had absolutely no experience or knowledge of these things when I started. With Steve helping me using Skype, telephone, email, facebook messaging and the tutorials my site is now ranking one and two for the two original keywords we decided upon. The website has already more than paid for itself with the work that it has generated. I have enjoyed learning new skills and have made a good friend to-boot.
    Thanks Steve.

      Hi Gabriel.
Glad that you are finding this tutorial useful. It’s nice to get some regular enquiries coming in. Ranking high for some local keywords should help bring you a regular flow of business enquiries.
Hope business is going well. Thank’s for visiting and sharing your thoughts.
